Submission Guidelines
The theme of this anthology is Be Careful What You Wish For. All submissions should include a main character or characters who make a wish that goes horribly wrong and the consequences of the wish. Stories can be any subgenre of Fantasy or Science Fiction. Go wherever your imagination takes you! The nature of this anthology lends itself to violence, but let’s try to keep the stories within a rough PG-13 rating in terms of sex and strong language. With that being said, no erotica stories will be considered for this anthology. Fade to black and non-descriptive sexual scenes are okay.
All stories must be between 5,000 words and 20,000 words.
All stories submitted should be professionally edited to eliminate as many errors as possible. Submissions riddled with obvious errors will be rejected.
Each story must be able to stand alone. This does not mean you can’t use characters from your other books, just that the anthology story itself should be able to be read separately and still make sense.
Marketing and Pay
This is a charity anthology, meaning each author will donate their story to the project. The publisher will claim no share of the royalties. All proceeds will be given to the charity of choice. this donation will be made quarterly. Proof of donation will be posted in the anthology group and can also be requested in writing at any time by emailing info@fiction-atlas.com.
The chosen charity for this anthology is The World Literacy Foundation. The World Literacy Foundation is a global not-for-profit that works to lift young people out of poverty through literacy. Founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2003, the World Literacy Foundation operates on the principle that education is a basic human right.

We have obtained the blessing of the foundation as well as the rights to use their logo in our marketing efforts and on our paperback book cover. Furthermore, the foundation will be announcing the anthology on their social media channels!
In addition to the proceeds being donated, we also usually do a little Facebook fundraiser directly to the organization on the week of release.
Each accepted story will remain exclusive to the anthology for 90 days. After 90 days, you will retain your rights to publish the story elsewhere. The book will remain for sale on Amazon after the 90 days is up and be available for as long as the publisher deems suitable.
Not every story submitted will be accepted. You are trusted to act in a professional and supportive way if your story is not selected. No bashing or negative comments will be tolerated.
Please know that each and every story is carefully read and considered based on many factors including readiness for publishing, theme compliance, and value to the anthology as a whole. If your story is not selected, you will immediately retain your rights to publish the story elsewhere.
Fees and Expectations
This anthology is a joint venture. Upon acceptance to the anthology, a $25 buy-in will be collected. (Payment plans for this are available. We don’t want to discourage anyone from joining.)
